1 Mr. Mckoy Slope goes up and down.
Finding Slope Mr. Mckoy Slope goes up and down.

2 What is Slope? Slope – It is the "steepness" of a line. It is the ratio of the "rise“ (change of y) to the "run" (change of x) between two points on the graph. 𝑅𝑖𝑠𝑒 𝑅𝑢𝑛 𝑜𝑟 ∆𝑦 ∆𝑥 It is also know as the rate of change, can be positive or negative, and is represented with a m.

3 Slope-Intercept Form Slope-intercept form is one of the main ways you will see Linear Functions. Written as y = mx + c, where m is slope and c is where the line crosses the y-axis. The formula can be used to find any number of ordered pairs used to graph a line.

4 Slope Formula You don’t always have slope-intercept form, sometimes you only have two ordered pairs. You can use the ordered pairs to find slope using the slope formula. 𝑦2 −𝑦1 𝑥2 −𝑥1 It is important to remember all ordered pairs are (x,y), when using the formula go ahead and label your points, point 1 and point 2.

5 Point-Slope Form Once you have a slope, you can use it and a point to find slope-intercept form. To do this we use the Point-Slope Form. 𝑦 −𝑦1=𝑚 𝑥 −𝑥1 Once you input for point 1 (x1,y1), you can then isolate y to find slope-intercept form.

6 Finding Slope From a Graph
If only given a graph of a line, you can still find the slope. Step 1 is to find any two point that have integers for x and y. Step 2 is to then use the slope formula with those two points. You may also simple count the x and y change between the points using graph. Remember to keep in mind negative change.
