Primary Teaching for Mastery Workgroups
We had 4 trained mastery specialists in Suffolk working with 23 schools across the region on a year long CPD programme We were also training 4 new mastery specialists in Norfolk to work with us in more depth in 2017/2018 Schools also worked alongside our Teaching for Mastery Lead

ICAMMS Project Working with 22 primary schools alongside Durham University looking at algebraic and Multiplicative Structures

SEND Primary Network This was working alongside about 10 schools and increasing collaboration between SENDCo’s and Mathematics Leads in Primary School. Also looked at furthering knowledge of how to teach mathematics to SEND children

PD Leads for Primary Working with the NCETM on a Nationally recognised development programme for leading Primary Mathematics PD

Number Sense CPD Extending our successful Bar Modelling workgroups of 2015/2016 to look at Number Sense. This was a year long CPD programme that was working with 60 primary schools across the region

Embedding of Algebra in KS1
This work group worked with 30 schools on developing pedagogical knowledge and resources for the introduction and teaching of algebra in KS1 classrooms. This workgroup was run in collaboration with 2 other National Maths Hubs

Calculation in Early Years Maths
This involved working with 15 schools on a year long programme looking at developing expertise with regards to teaching calculations in Early Years classrooms

Challenging Maths for Pupils & Parents
This involved working with 2 main schools on developing a Mathematics APP to help parents engage with mathematics at home and increase the depth of knowledge of students Early results suggest that the App has worked well with 6 more schools and downloads and data suggest it is influencing about 1000 students

Mathematical Development of Teaching Assistants
This workgroup worked with 56 schools (split into 2 separate workgroups) and enhancing the mathematical expertise and confidence of Teaching Assistants. Early indications show that this workgroup was very successful and the impact was demonstrable.

Primary Mathematics Network
We have started to develop a Primary Mathematics Network in Suffolk and we will be looking to continue this further next year

Primary Teaching for Mastery
We now have 7 trained mastery specialists across the region and they will be working with schools on a year long CPD programme (£1000 grant and spaces still available) We are also training 5 new mastery specialists across the region to work with schools in 2018/2019

China England Exchange
We are sending 2 more teachers out to Shanghai in September 2017 to work with schools and specialist We will be getting 2 Shanghai teachers into the region in January 2018 for 2 weeks and they will be based at Queens Hill Primary in Norwich (opportunities to see them)

Primary PD Lead We are looking to run the Primary PD lead programme again in 2017/2018

Local Leaders of Maths Education Network
We are looking at extending out primary network meetings to include Primary Maths Leaders, Primary Mastery Specialists, Headteachers

Maths SLE School Improvement
We are looking at working with a Teaching School to develop a workgroup that will enable a group of schools to access support from a Maths SLE More details to follow on this

Primary Teaching for Mastery depth workgroup
We are looking at working with the schools that have already worked with us this year in workgroups to develop their understanding of Teaching for Mastery More details to follow soon

Primary Teacher Subject Knowledge Enhancement
We are going to work with a Teaching School to develop a workgroup looking at enhancing subject knowledge of primary teachers More details to follow

Primary TA Subject Knowledge
We will be continuing and extending our very successful Primary TA workgroup to work with more schools

Upskilling Primary Maths Leads
We are currently in consultation on developing a workgroup looking at deepening and strengthening the skills of Primary Maths Leads
