Happy Birthday to Lexa 2E, Becky 5E and Alex 6M! 29th May 1917 On the 29th May, 100 years ago, in 1917, it was the birth of John F Kennedy the 35th President of the United States of America. 29th May 1919 On this day the pop-up toaster which was invented by Charles Strite, was patented. 29th May 1942 75 years ago, Bing Crosby recorded “White Christmas” which is the biggest selling record ever.

5 Interhouse Competitions
Games Parliament Interhouse Competitions We are hoping to have more inter house competitions at break times and would like to know what you think. A list of ideas raised at the Games Parliament meeting last week will be given to each P3-P7 class to see which you think would be popular and to add your own ideas too. The completed list should be returned to Mr Balfour once you have discussed it in class.

6 Games Parliament Playground Video Project
We are still looking for any children in P4-P7 who are interested in helping with the playground video project. You will have the chance to use cameras and also tell the story of all the different things we can do in our playground. The video would then be posted on the school website. If you are interested please go to Mr Balfour’s office at the start of golden time on Fridays.

7 Recycle with Michael Last term our school took part in the Recycle with Michael scheme by taking in bags of old clothes and shoes we no longer needed. In total all our clothes weighed 779 kilos and we raised £85.68! We will be taking part in another Recycle with Michael scheme near the end of Term 4.

10 Buddies Transition Certificates will be distributed to all P7 Buddies to thank them for helping in the playground as well as in and around the school over the past school year. They’ve all done a fantastic job, well done Buddies! P6 are now in their “training” this term to take on their new roles after the Summer Holidays.

11 Well Done Well done to Alex, Jamie, Ryan and Josh for taking part in a Golf Competition at the weekend. Ryan came third place. He said he was presented with the first prize shield by mistake – and they had to take it back off him after! Well done to Ryan for showing great sportsmanship when these things go wrong!!

12 Well Done Well done to Reen who went to Aberdeen for the Scottish Kickboxing Competition, coming first place beating children from all over Scotland to win this belt!! He will now go on to compete in the British Title Championship in July.

13 Well Done Well done to all those who took part in the Athletics Competition at Picky on Sunday. Lots of medals were won for various events such as long jump, shot putt, cricket ball and running.

14 Well Done Well done to Erica and Ailsa as they competed in a Highland Dancing Competition. Erica got a First and Third placing, and Ailsa won overall in her age group! They both did a variety of dances such as reel, Highland fling, sword dance, trophy fling, lilt and flora.

15 Well Done Well done to Ellie who completed her 25m length at Picky on Sunday. Ellie said she really enjoyed doing it.
