Customer Success 3 What do your customers want from an Archive Migration? They want a migration experience with little or no downtime. They want to have zero impact on the end user. They want all of their data available on the Destination. They want their archive message stubs to be managed appropriately. They want to decide how to manage journaling. They want to manage data for inactive users. They want their message archive to comply with regulatory requirements.

Migration Methodologies
Migrating Manually vs. Automated Processes
14
Migration Methodologies
4 Migrating Manually Automated Process Takes significantly longer than automated process No audit trail No evidence of regulatory compliance High failure rate More susceptible to human error Exposes data to tampering Potential data loss More reliable than manual migration Item-level auditing and logging Chain-of-custody reporting Handles message stubs Reduces cost and speeds up the migration process Multi-threaded, multi-server platform enhances performance

Key Planning Points Source, Destination, Journaling, Legal Compliance
16
Source & Destination 5 Questions to consider
17
Journaling 5 Journaling archive stores every piece of for legal requirements. Over time, the journaling archive becomes extremely large. In preparation, you must consider: Does your customer need to continue journaling? Do they need their journaling archive migrated? Do you plan to leave the journal intact, and start fresh on the new system?
18
Journaling You cannot move an individual user’s data from the journal.
5 You cannot move an individual user’s data from the journal. You can only splice it by date and then migrate. BitTitan will help you decide what to do with the journal, and configure the archive tools appropriately.
19
Legal Compliance and eDiscovery
5 Must the customer provide auditing and reporting that meets industry- specific regulations? What data retention and eDiscovery requirements are required? Is the organization currently involved in any lawsuits? Is any content in the archive under litigation hold? Does the customer need to migrate “inactive” user messages and maintain chain-of-custody protocols? Does the customer need to maintain a custodian-to-data relationship during every step of the migration process?
