1 UMMSS International Internship Information Night 2016
Unmatched process & Applying Interstate Khrisna Tumali MD4 Western Health Intern 2017

2 Unmatched Process Timeline in 2016
Aug 11 – P2 offers released 48 p2 were matched 42 p2 were unmatched So what happened if you were unmatched?

3 Unmatched Process You go into Round 3 process:
Unmatched p2 and p3 applicants. From 11 August until Dec/Jan Round 3 purely deals with hospital networks and applicants, no PMCV and computer match involved. At this stage, the hospitals do not have to think about priority rankings.

4 Unmatched Process A spot open up
Someone declined their position to take the job interstate The medical workforce unit (MWU) would let PMCV know about the position PMCV would give MWU list of the unmatched PMCV don’t candidates when a spot open up Then, the MWU would decide who they are going to employ based on their list Could be p2 or p3 at this stage Once MWU decide, they would let PMCV know and inform the applicant! Via phone call – keep your phone ON at all times! I call Edwina (from PMCV Manager) – round 3 process if there is a spot open up (i.e. someone declined their position to take job interstate). The health service would let PMCV know about the position then PMCV would gave the hospital the unmatched lists. Have to make yourself known to the MWU that you are unmatched and keen to get a job in Vic

5 Tips if you were unmatched
Things to do: Call Edwina (PMCV) - advice for Round 3 Talk to your clinical schools i.e. Dean Express willingness to work in Aus Talk to your hospital MWU Drop by in person then follow-up Contact other hospital MWU Phone or Let your local colleagues who applied to interstate know Consider other options Call PMCV – explained how the recruitment process will work

English language results (AHPRA) Interstate: before application close (3rd June) Victoria: before job offer (11th August) CMI: before application close (12th September) standards/english-language-skills.aspx Effort & time spent doing the applications ?Focus on Vic applications NT and WA are potential opportunities Internship priority list by state - df English - make sure you check the English requirements (6 years continuous, secondary school or require to sit English test) Secondary school - Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States of America, South Africa, the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland,  I think need to be done before you apply (due date is 3rd June) for interstate For Vic you can provide the document before
