1 The GranView Fireplace
Technical Specifications and Installation

2 Two Handouts Are Available

3 Why is the GranView different
New Category of clean burning Fireplace not a Built In adjustable burn rate heater Meets EPA requirements of NSPS Section part 2- ii

4 What does that mean? Fireplace definition according to NSPS
Single operator control for intake and or damper, either open or closed Over 500 surface inches of viewing area using Ceramic Glass

5 Does it burn clean? Is it Efficient?
Tested to Method 28A it achieved: 95% combustion efficiency 2.72 g/kg of emission

6 The air supply system Single operation Open or Closed
Sealed combustion air delivery system Meets Mechanical Code for infiltration Eliminates cold and odors. Uses ONLY outside air when door is closed Can be run 10’ on 4” after that 6”

7 Self Regulating Burn Rate
As the outside air enters it expands reducing the O2 content The hotter the firebox, the slower the burn The air inlet ports work like a carburetor Proper mixture of air to the fuel Eliminates customer interaction with controls

8 How the combustion air is distributed

9 Installation All framing and sheeting can be Combustible
Thermo protection for hearth and header provided Low interior ceiling height of 72” with front louver And 80” for use with Top Vent Kit Minimum chase width as low as 45”. 53” is recommended for connection of the outside air

10

11

12 Mantle Height 53 ½” from the unit base when a front vent is used
51 ½” from the unit base when the top vent kit is used Based on an 8” mantle protrusion from the face Increase in a 1” to 1” ratio based on extra depth NON combustible mantles can be placed at any height but should take into account combustibles that may be placed on the mantle What does that mean?

13

14 Hearth Requirements Raised Hearth must extend 16” in front of and 8” to each side as a MINIMUM Floor level hearths may protrude 16” but 20” is recommended for spark protection Micor 300 provided for heat protection under hearth materials Z-Strip for hearth included

15 Do Not Obstruct the circulation air inlet or outlet or overheating may occur

16 Top Vent Kit Must have 6” clearance from the vent to any combustible
Ceiling Side Wall Mantle

17 The Chase is a framed structure to encase the fireplace and chimney system. Construct this like any other wall in the home. Note: NO combustible material may overlap the steel front of the fireplace

18 The “Clean Face Option”
This eliminates the upper and lower air circulation louvers Use part #s TVK-02 and GVCFK to complete this A stone face kit is available for finishing around the front for a clean appearance

19 Chimney Requirements 8” UL 103 HT chimney only
Start off with approved anchor plate Must be a minimum of 15’ measured from the base of the fireplace Proper supports, shields and pass thru required Consult your chimney manufacturer instructions

20 Thanks For attending Make sure to sign in and out for CEU’s
