Understand that different styles of lettering create different moods Apply knowledge of lettering and logos to create your own design sheet

Logos A logo is a name, symbol or trademark of a company,
organization or a product. Successful logos are usually Very simple in design Easy to understand and are recognisable from a distance Made up from 1-3 colours Made with writing that is easy to read Made with simple drawings or symbols used. Some examples:

Lettering Lettering can affect the way a name is expressed
This can be done by altering the: Shape Style Colour Size

Design Sections Different Fonts Initial Development Final Development
Make a list of 6-8 names in different fonts You can print and trace fonts from the computer You can hand draw you own fonts You must write a comment next to each name, saying what you like and dislike about it Pick 2-3 names to develop Change the colour and design of each as you wish Evaluate each design, saying what you like and dislike about it. You can also number each design and tally their scores to see which one people like the most (this is another form of evaluating) Pick one design to develop further Change the colour and design as you wish Comment or tally each of your designs to say which one is the best Present your final / chosen design. Say why you have chosen this one. Refer to your specification if you can

A description / explanation on logos & lettering The following 3 sections Different types of fonts Initial development Final development A drawing of your final logo
