Medicinal plant is a predominant part of Asiatic people over centuries, including Sri Lankan. At present, medicinal plant play the major role in making of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and spices because those are free from health risks.

8 Komarika Asphodelaceae Aloe vera Aloe, a popular houseplant, has a long history as a multipurpose folk remedy. family Punicaceae. It is cultivated in home gardens in Sri Lanka specially as a medicinal plant and as a fruit tree. There is no other fruit crop that has high medicinal value compared to that in pomegranate. 10 Pomegranate is used for conditions of the heart and blood vessels, including high blood pressure, congestive heart failure (CHF), heart attack, “hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis), and high cholesterol. It is also used for conditions of the digestive tract, including diarrhea, dysentery, and tapeworm and other intestinal parasites. Some people use pomegranate for flu, swelling of the lining of the mouth (stomatitis), gum disease, erectile dysfunction (ED), diabetes and a complication called acidosis, bleeding, and HIV disease. It is also used for preventing prostate cancer, obesity, and weight loss. Some women use pomegranate to cause an abortion.
