2 Artist Statement A brief essay statement about your art experiences, philosophy, styles and goals should go here. You may add a quote or small image that reinforces your position as a n artist. Maximize space for statement by keeping heading high, text small but readable, no fancy fonts! Answer the following questions to get you started: Why do you think art is important in education or personal time? How or why did you become interested in the arts? How would you characterize your style , technique or mediums? What common themes or messages does your work reflect on? What are your goals as a visual artist (may be specific to career or college goals?

All 3-D work should be photographed from multiple angles (at least 3). If you have room on a page, and would like to include a small statement explaining a particular piece (maybe one that is complex, deals with unique subject/materials or is something you are particularly proud of), you can add a text box with a concise but significant write-up. 15 Check that you have minimum of 13 slides: Title slide, artist statement, 10 works, all labeled with same font, font color, font size (consistency is key). Label includes all elements. Order works systematically (chronological, medium related, theme related, etc.) Maximize viewing space with works as large as possible. Include several mini-statements about your best works. 1 Contact slide at end! Make sure you have spell checked EVERYTHING!!!!!! Then have a friend review it too!
