Challenges Low consumer trust & transparency
Distorted nutritional habits Sustainability Fragmented supply chain Skills gap Limited entrepreneurial culture Technology adoption is slow The food sector is the largest manufacturing sector in Europe, providing 44 million jobs… but it is still stuck in the twentieth century. It is complex, consumer trust is lacking, and it’s resource inefficient: we throw away 25% of our food. Innovation is limited. Emerging technologies are slow to be adopted, and the right talent and skills are lacking.
