4 In the airports… When we get off of the bus at PHL there will be a group check in. Once everyone is accounted for, you will go with your chaperone to check in and through security and all groups will meet at the gate. Do not leave your chaperone group! We will have one more check in at the gate, you will be able to buy Euros at PHL- YOU WILL NOT HAVE TIME to buy Euros when we arrive. Each person should have Euros upon arrival in France. That is $68-$113. Upon arrival in France, you will stay with your chaperone and go through customs and security. We will do a check in once everyone gets their bag in the baggage claim area. Follow TSA regulations regarding liquids(3.4 oz). All students will be polite and mindful of other passengers!!! You are representing Central Bucks!

9 A few words about hotels…
Always know the name and address Hotels in Europe are smaller These hotels have hairdryers and bidets Outlets are NOT the same voltage-share converters There are usually only 2 keys per room distributed, plan well with your roommates Travelers will pay if there is damage to a room* Meal portions are usually smaller than in the U.S. Lunches are not included Europeans are much more environmentally conscientious than we are in general. Please re-use your towels!

Day 2 – Arrive at Charles de Gaulle and bus to Orleans Visit the Joan of Arc Museum in Orleans 7/26 Jeanne d ’Arc questionnaire (mini lesson in bus) Lessons in Orleans Daily 9-12 Day Tour of Orleans and visit the Cathedral Sainte-Croix 7/27 Review of questionnaire (Miguel, Lydia and Marie) Market/Directions (Marie and Lydia) Situation Cards (Lydia) Day Excursion to Chartres /28 (History of Sainte-Croix and a focus on the stained glass) (Ginny) Architecture of the cathedrals (Miguel) Day 5 Loire Valley, Château d’Amboise, Château de Chenonceau, Troglodyte Dinner, Sound and Light Show at Amboise /29 Loire Valley (Marie and Miguel) Day 6 Transfer to Paris: stop at a cheese farm 7/30 Giverny (Stacy) Numbers in context (Jane) Day 7 Sightseeing in Paris, Versailles /31 Day 8 Paris: The Louvre, Walking Tour of Paris, Notre Dame (free time for catacombs etc…) Evening Walking tour of Montmartre and Crêpe Dinner in Montmartre /1 Day 9 Excursion to Giverny, Seine River Cruise (awards), Eiffel Tower 8/2 Day 10 Depart Charles de Gaulle for PHL 8/3

11 Student reminders Do not wear ear buds while the guide is talking on the bus or out on tour Try NOT to use the bathroom on the bus No student will be rude, obnoxious or show a lack of respect during any part of the trip – be aware of the space around you! Listen first, take pictures later NO SELFIES WITH ART!!! Be very careful when crossing streets Be cautious of people selling you grass, herbs or asking you for directions When we have free time, no student will be alone. When we are together, immediately find your chaperone and wait for instructions Curfew is 11:00pm No members of the opposite sex will be permitted in your rooms Phones/calls/texts (viber, oovo/skype/facetime) Random room and luggage checks Bring CB stuff! PLEASE DO NOT TEXT YOUR PARENTS WITH A PROBLEM, TELL YOUR CHAPERONES!!!

Bring sunscreen, hat and sunglasses Pack lightly (see EF packing list/luggage 25” less than 50lbs) Attendance at all scheduled activities is mandatory Be on time! Bring student ID for possible discounts Notify your bank and credit card companies that you will be in France Telephone cards are NOT recommended Watch your belongings- under clothing money belts are a must No smoking or illegal activities Bring a battery operated alarm, camera OR phone not both Bring a bathing suit…just in case Dress code (religious sites, no flip-flops, walking shoes) Pee/eat when you can – there are days when we will be running from 7am-11pm! Don’t buy too many souvenirs Customs forms

13 Safety Write the hotel name and number along with the tour director phone number on your EF bracelet If anything occurs while you are on free time, get back to the hotel If you can’t get back to the hotel, stay put and try to call me or the tour director If you can’t call and need help, ask police or anyone nearby Safety tips

Bring composition books and folders, make sure you know your guiding question Presentations will take place in your schools in September – date T.B.A. Speak French!!! 18 EF Backpacks/Passport holders
Please take your backpack today – it will serve as your only carry on bag When you arrive at South on 7/25 you will check in BY SCHOOL and have your luggage weighed We will give you a passport holder, you will put your passport in it along with your boarding pass when you receive it and leave it around your neck until we arrive in Orleans We may not check in on that first day until after dinner so prepare yourself mentally and physically! Hydrate! Wear layers! See you at South at 1:30 on July 25th!
