Identifying Issues and Areas of Focus
Key concerns (potential areas of improvement) as perceived by managers and members of staff: Absence of clear career pathways, therefore, individuals not developed with next role in mind. Challenges in releasing staff to participate in intensive or long-term development activity, eg shadowing and secondments. Limited mobility across Faculties and Directorates (lack of awareness/understanding of opportunities outside immediate work area).

Consider post rotation. Support and encourage staff to apply for internal opportunities. Ensure Professional Services Staff have a voice. Consider opportunities to recognise achievements.

Supporting Flexible Career Paths and Mobility
Structured approach to planning and agreeing developmental activity: Job swaps. Secondments to support career development and to enhance job performance in current role. Role of SPRE.

Erasmus Staff Opportunities
There are two types of Mobility available: Erasmus Teaching Staff Training Eligibility Criteria: The University you choose to visit must already have a partnership with Keele University. Types of Mobility: Independent Visit Staff Training Week – (iMotion) You could travel with another staff member!

What funding is available?
Funding is provided for: Travel Accommodation Meals Some Hospitality A week, for these purposes is considered to be five working days; weekends or holidays falling in the period are not considered for support, unless they are used as working or travel days. Subsistence - Depends on duration and destination Travel – is determined by the Erasmus Distance Calculator Finances are paid based on receipted expenditure The grant allocated for your destination should fit your budget, please come and talk to the Global Education Team if you have any concerns over budget and destinations.
