13. Suggestions from Volunteers for Improving the Email Buddy Program
I normally find out what exploratory my buddy is in through my buddy. Maybe the administration can let us know also and should they need extra hands reach out to an adult buddy to participate in that class. In the past we received heads-up s if our buddy was absent so we would know to expect an or not. I don't know if there is a way to follow-up to be sure that all students have sent an , but it would be helpful.
Making sure kids are willing to participate
If anyone can provide us with some insight into what the students may actually be studying throughout the year, we could casually bring up some of those topics to try to reinforce the message that is being delivered by the teacher.
I think that we need to do something to add some zip to the program so that s just going to go from week to week with nothing of note

I do not feel that the school gives the same importance to the program as CAI does...I feel that the school needs to be on the same page.
maybe there is a reason that it starts so late in the school year but I always feel so much time lapses between the first day of school and when we can start ing.
I know the kids like bowling and as such perhaps we should continue with it, but I am thinking an activity...perhaps fun games of the "Minute to Win It" genre that you have to do with your buddy would build a better bridge
some periodic s on thoughts and suggested topics to share with your buddy .. maybe some best practices on communicating with young inner city kids ..etc.
Are the children required to respond? Who monitors they are responding?
