Allotments in July Allotments are great all year round but what grows in July ?

Sowing , planting and harvesting
Start sowing over the wintering crops like : kale spring cabbage radicchio chicory spinach beet hard onions Lift autumn planted onions for immediate use. Start to pick plums , early pears apples. In July it’s the best time to sow the main crop of carrots to avoid attacks from root flies. Cabbage and strawberries are ready and fresh to be eaten.

Water alot in the cool of the evening Aim to keep your hoe moving Remove weeds from the allotment Draw up soil round the Brussel sprouts An allotment owner caring for the soil.
