1 Sing Loudly 2 Chronicles 20:1-25

2 2 Chronicles 20 Praising God for All He Does
Who Else but God . . . could conquer the armies of 3 nations—“a great multitude” (v 15)—at once? could be so compassionate on His people that say “we do not know what to do, but have our eyes on You” (v 12 )? could say to them in battle “stand and see the salvation of the LORD, Who is with you” (v 16)? God has and will do a lot for you. Eph. 3:20

3 Another Aspect What the Singers Do

4 The Singers Appointed by the King, v.21
To Sing “to the LORD” and to Praise God, v 21 The LORD is Motivation for the army V 21 they were saying, “Praise the LORD for His mercy endures forever.” Psalm 106:1 - Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD for He is good: for His mercy endures forever.” Psalm 107:1 “O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good: for His mercy endures forever.” Psalm 136:1-26 (26 times) “O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for His mercy endures forever. “ Acknowledge God’s Power and Deliverance The whole army is ready; the army includes the singers. What a man of faith! He shows he is completely reliant upon God, no one else.

5 The Singers’ Song They sing praises to the majesty, the splendor of holiness, “The beauty of holiness.”, v 21 Psalm 29:2 – “Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” Psalm 90:17 – “And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish Thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish Thou it.” Psalm 96:9 – “O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before Him, all the earth. “

6 Loudly Sing! verse 19 Loudly Sing! Psalm 81:1
“Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob” Psalm 95:1,2 “Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise!” Loudly Sing! – Why loudly? Because: It’s a big, noisy world? Sure! He’s a Great, Compassionate King! They believe God will make it right! V 21

7 "Get yourself up on a high mountain, O Zion, bearer of good news, Lift up your voice mightily, O Jerusalem, bearer of good news; Lift it up, do not fear. Say to the cities of Judah, "Here is your God!" Behold, the Lord GOD will come with might, With His arm ruling for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him And His recompense before Him. Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, In His arm He will gather the lambs And carry them in His bosom; He will gently lead the nursing ewes." Isaiah 40:9-11 Speaking about the Christ. Note the correlation between loudly bearing the news versus being afraid.

8 The Singers, People of Faith
The King appoints you to be a singer for the army. It takes a lot of faith to walk through the gate and sing! Great! You are ready to encourage! Will you sing for them on the streets as they march by? No. Will you stand on the city walls and sing as they leave for battle? No. You will sing in front of the march to war, with the warriors behind you!

9 The Singers, Singing God’s Way is Different Than Man’s Way (v 15, 20 21). The outcome of our faith is . . . God’s Way for You: Don’t Fear (v 15) Believe in the LORD your God (v 20) Now go and sing to the LORD (v 21) God is not limited by your lack of vision, imagination, creativity or power.

10 "Do you not know. Have you not heard
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth , Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.” Isaiah 40:28-31 The outcome of our faith – We are capable, strong, able

11 Life’s a Test of Your Confidence, Not Just about What God Does
The Lesson of 2 Chronicles 20? “Humble yourselves under the Mighty Hand of God that He may exalt you at the right time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6,7. “Hope in God.” Psalm 43 Put Your Confidence Fully In God, (and march out there singing)

12 Confidence “ he appointed those who should sing to the LORD as they went out before the army and were saying: ‘Praise the LORD, for His Mercy endures forever.’” 2 Chronicles 20:21 Do you have that kind of confidence? To do what He says to you? Will you?
