Purpose The purpose of the State of the School and Title I Annual meeting is to: Provide information about the current state of the school Provide an update on the School Improvement Plan Share priorities, goals and strategies for improvement Provide ways in which families can be engaged throughout the year Clarify the purpose of Title I Describe the communication parents/guardians can expect to receive regarding their child’s progress

Community Partnership School
Community Partnership Schools are collaborative, innovative, site-based, educational models that meet the unique needs of their students, accelerate learning, and prepare them for college and careers. Community Partnership Schools are designed to accelerate student learning through autonomy, accountability and partnership.

MPS Priorities: 5% 5% annual increase overall in the number of students meeting or exceeding state standards in reading and math This is not a growth measure – it is a measure of the number of students who are proficient at or above grade level We also seek to ensure that all students make more than one year’s growth – no matter where they start!

MPS Priorities: 8% 8% annual increase of students meeting or exceeding state standards in reading and math for our lowest performing students “Lowest performing students” refers to sub-groups that are at a gap – Black, Native and Latino students.

Climate SIP Goals Climate: We are working to improve engagement through the implementation of the CLR strategies through grade levels, content areas and goals in our School Improvement Plan (SIP). Dean Training and response data collection: Creating school wide system responses, equitable responses that are across grade levels. Expanding the skills of the dean team to support the academic environment.

Climate Attendance Team
Weekly meetings to review attendance data, plan and implement interventions and incentives 1 “Check & Connect” mentor working intensely with a caseload of students and a promise fellow. Social workers work 1:1 with students to develop academic plans. (Added Social Worker time) Dean Process Additional Mental Health staff

Title I and School Improvement Plans
Title I is a federal program that provides money to schools and districts to ensure that all children have a fair, equal and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education to achieve proficiency on our state’s academic standards and assessments. Title I supports our School Improvement Plan and the funding we receive helps us to reach our goals.

Title 1 Funds at Ramsey Do all schools receive Title I funds? Budget
No. Title I programs are available to schools with the greatest concentration of low- income families. Budget The total Title I amount is $174, ($173,830 is spent on teacher salary) We are a school wide Title I program, which means all students are able to benefit from Title I services.

Use of Title Funds at our School
To support our goals we are using the Title I money in the following ways. 100% is being used for teachers and other staff 0% is being used to support our curriculum

Student Progress To monitor student learning, we use state assessments and other ways to gather information to plan programs and supports for our students. These are the ways we share this information with you about your student throughout the year. s/phone calls Parent Portal Student Led Conference

As a Parent, You Have the Right…
to know the qualifications of your child’s teacher to know when your child has a substitute teacher for more than four weeks and the qualifications of the substitute teacher to know how your child’s school is rated on its state test scores to expect regular communication with your school in a language that you can understand to work with other parents and staff to develop a school-level parent compact between the school and its families to help plan how money for family involvement should be spent to work with teachers, parents and the school principal to develop a family involvement plan to ask for a meeting with your school principal or your child’s teacher at any time

Opportunities for Family Involvement
Provide input in the development of the School Improvement Plan, Family Involvement Plan, and the School Compact Participate in Site Council, PTA, and attend school events Parents/guardians are encouraged to participate in Title I meetings and learning opportunities Visit your child’s classroom or volunteer at your child’s school Talk to your child’s teacher about events and issues that may affect your child’s work or behavior
