LED’s offer a wide range of white light
Warm White K nominal color temperature– optimal CCT for general lighting Typical CRI > 85 Efficiency of >65 lumen/Watt Daylight White K nominal color temperature Flux levels >85 lumen/Watt CRI >75 Cool White K color temperature Flux levels >100 lumen/Watt CRI <60 3200K K This slide is to promote the new warm white Luxeon. This product was created to simulate the color temperature of an incandescent bulb (3200 degrees Kelvin) Excellent for general lighting applications including indoor, retail display, and museum lighting. Spectrum of incandescent bulb and Warm White Luxeon.

LED’s vs. Tungsten /Halogen
Conventional Tungsten lamp 3200K nominal color temperature Efficiency of lumen/Watt Lamp life ~2,000 hours Warm White LED Efficiency of >65 lumen/Watt Maintain 70% output after 50,000 hours. Daylight White LED 4500K nominal color temperature Flux levels >85 lumen/Watt Maintain 70% output after 50,000 hours. LED’s offer >4X the output and >25X lamp life of halogen lamps! Cost Analysis: LED’s vs Halogen
Conventional 25W Halogen lamp Lamp life < 2,000 hours Lamp cost ~ $8 each $200 replacement lamp cost over 50,000 hours + labor cost Energy cost $625 ($0.15/kW-hr) Initial cost ~$100 with fixture 6W White LED Lamp life > 50,000 hours Maintain 70% output after 50,000 hours. No lamp replacement Energy cost $158 ($0.15/kW-hr) Initial cost ~$200 complete (Terra Spot) LED Savings over life: $575 Terra Spot Light Engine This slide is to promote the new warm white Luxeon. System Efficacy Metal Halide vs. LED
Metal Halide: 6500K, 100 lm/W Cool White LED: 6500K, 100 lm/W 65% Utilization Efficiency 85% Utilization Efficiency This slide illustrates the importance of measuring total system efficiency when comparing light sources. The HID light is omni-directional. Unfortunately, only the light hitting the surface is considered useful light. Since only 40% of the light is hitting that surface, the 100 lm/W nominal efficiency converts to 40 lm/W effective system efficiency. The 50 lm/W nominal efficiency with a 80% utilization efficiency, due to the fact that LEDs are directional light sources, converts to 40 lm/W effective system efficiency. Therefore both solutions exhibit the same effective system efficiency. This means that the Luxeon LEDs can compete today with the more efficient conventional light sources. Lighting efficiency 65 lm/W Lighting efficiency 85 lm/W
