6. Setting children by ability
Phonics groups this term.
Setted groups by January 2017 for Numeracy, Literacy and Guided Reading sessions.
You will receive a letter informing you of your child’s teacher for literacy and numeracy before the Christmas break.
The groupings will be very fluid.

7. Phonics Assessment Year 1
Daily phonics session
-What is phonics?
Once children begin learning sounds, these sounds are used orally to identify and make words.
They will then begin to learn the letters which make each of the sounds and these are used to read and spell words.

These will be stuck in the back of your child’s reading record.
As with all internet use, we recommend that parents supervise their child at all times.

13. Uniform Please name all items that your child brings into school
We have PE on Thursday and Games on Monday (1EH & 1CL) and Wednesday (1DK) (weather permitting).
PE and Games kit should include
White T-shirt/Emerald t-shirt
White shorts
Tracksuit trousers
Tracksuit jacket
Trainers (and socks)
Pumps (optional)
It would be helpful if all the above could be in school at all times and in two separate bags where possible.

Your child is encouraged to bring a named water bottle to school to use in the classroom.

Please try to send your child’s reading record and book to school every day.
