Expectations We will share this space and the most important of work—learning—over the coming months. To best accomplish the learning that will contribute to your success now and in the future, we all need to follow some fundamental guidelines which are applicable to life in general. I call them “The 3 R’s”

Respect Treat others the way you expect to be treated—with courtesy and dignity. Harassment, ridicule or abuse will not be tolerated. Treat this facility as if it were a valued personal possession. You get what you give

Responsibility : Do what must be done to the best of your ability. Do more than is required and do it better than is expected whenever possible. Even if it’s not your dog—it’s your dog

Readiness Come to class with the tools you need: Pen, Paper, Composition book, Text or novel. Come to class alert and “ready” to participate The first day you show up without a hammer, I’ll loan you one. The second day, I hire someone who brings his or her hammer everyday

Some No’s No Technology during class (Unless it is part of the lesson or you have permission) Phones, Ipods, MP3’s, etc will be collected. 1st –Pick up item from me at end of class 2nd—Turned into administrator—you’ll need to get it from them 3rd—Turned into administrator and your parents will nheed to pick it up.

No Food or Drink in class.
(You may have water (H2O) in a bottle with a cap that can be sealed and will not spill—No cups/glasses

Needs Composition Book 2 Pens for “Pen Bank”
4 boxes of tissue per class—Each row is responsible for one box.

Most important Needs Passion and excitement for the richness of life.
Curiosity Trust that deeper knowledge creates a deeper appreciation and deeper relationship with the world we live in and a deeper engagement with our own lives. Willingness to try. The only failure occurs when one doesn’t try. An understanding that learning is exciting and fun and ultimately enriching.
