6 Guardmaster® 440C-CR30 Safety Relay Key Features
Easy to Use: Rapid configuration with pre-configured function blocks 2. 1. As you will see in the lab, the function block editor simplifies the implementation of safety logic. This intuitive software is built around typical safety functions, such as gate switches or light curtains, instead of abstract safety logic. The software also automatically assigns and configures terminals without sacrificing flexibility. Auto Configuration of I/O based on Function block assignment

7 Guardmaster® 440C-CR30 Safety Relay Easy to Use
Online Monitoring Color-coded online monitoring helps troubleshoot code Diagnostic tooltips provide natural language fault descriptions The editor includes an online diagnostics tool, with simple color coding to aid in troubleshooting. In firmware 10, when an instruction faults the tooltip will appear the first time until acknowledged. Previously you would have to hoover over the instruction to show the fault description. Many users were not aware that detailed information was available. Diagnostic tooltips for application troubleshooting

8 Guardmaster® 440C-CR30 Safety Relay 2080 Plug-in Support
2080-IQ4OB4 plug-in for expansion I/O: Standard Input Expansion: Use standard inputs for standard signals such as circuit resets, feedback monitoring or muting sensors Standard Diagnostics: Land auxiliary contacts of series wired safety devices and share over EtherNet/IP or serial comms Use standard outputs to drive status indicators or send gate unlock commands Reset Muting Sensors Feedback Monitoring The second key feature is the support of up to two standard plug-in with four inputs and four outputs. These additional I/O can be used for signals in the safety circuit that do not need to be safety rated, such as reset, feedback monitoring, muting sensors, and auxiliary outputs, thus saving the safety I/O for signals that actually require a safety rating. Altogether we can add 16 standard I/O without expanding the 110mm footprint of the device. Expansion I/O with no impact to panel footprint

9 Guardmaster® 440C-CR30 Safety Relay Single Wire Safety Support
Supports Single Wire Safety for easy integration of GSR relays: Add Safety Relay Outputs Add multiple dry contact outputs by utilizing GSR EM (Expansion module) while only consuming a single safety output configured for Single Wire Safety Connect Upstream GSR Relays Expand inputs and functionality using GSR relays by connection through Single Wire Safety The third key feature is the support of Single Wire Safety, a PLe / SIL 3 rated signal for indicating safety status to another device. The GSR family of hardware configurable safety relays also feature SWS, and thus can be used with the CR30 as a methodology for expanding safety I/O. As an example, if you need safety rated dry contact outputs (instead of the embedded solid state outputs), the CR30 can use a single safety output, configured as SWS, to control a GSR EM (Expansion Module) with four sets of dry contact (relay) outputs. The CR30 can have up to two SWS inputs and up to two SWS outputs.

10 Guardmaster® 440C-CR30 Safety Relay Optional Ethernet Plug-in for Logix Communication
Share diagnostics with Logix controller via EtherNet/IP Add-on Profile for Studio 5000® Requires v20 or later Predefined Input tags: I/O Terminal status Verification ID Faults Logic function status The optional Ethernet plug-in allows communication with a Logix controller to share diagnostics. This information can be used to reduce the time required troubleshoot the safety system.

11 Guardmaster® 440C-CR30 Safety Relay New Version 3
Guardmaster® 440C-CR30 Safety Relay New Version 3.01 Add-on Profile with Integrated Editor Premier Integration with Logix control systems: Add-on Profile v3.01 for Studio Logix Designer® contains fully functional Logic editor for the Guardmaster® 440C-CR30 safety relay. Single software/project for configuring and monitoring Logix controller and Guardmaster® 440C-CR30 safety relays. Read from slide

12 Configuration stored in project ACD and downloaded to Controller
Guardmaster® 440C-CR30 Safety Relay Working with 440C-CR30 Add-on Profile Download Project 1. Download Project From Workstation to Controller. 2. Open device profile. 3. Select Logic Configuration tab. 4. Push download if necessary. Download begins. Configuration stored in project ACD and downloaded to Controller This process involves manual intervention by the user to push the configuration down from Studio 5000 Logix Designer software to the safety relay. This is necessary because this is a standard Logix controller that does not have safety-rated memory for storing the Guardmaster 440C-CR30 safety relay configuration nor does it support CIP Safety to transport the configuration safely. The user must perform thorough testing to ensure the configuration is applied properly before placing the safety relay in the Verified state.

13 Guardmaster® 440C-CR30 Safety Relay Firmware Release 9 - Four New Function Block Features
Four new function blocks feature available with Guardmaster® 440C-CR30 safety relay firmware Compatible with: Connected Components Workbench™ software R8.01 or later Studio 5000 Logix Designer® Add-on Profile 2.01 or later Read from slide. Output Loop: The new Output Loop function block allows the logical state of a Safety Output Function to be monitored as an input condition. This feature allows you to build more complicated logic circuits within the Guardmaster 440C-CR30 safety relay logic editor. Note that the use of the output loop in a safety function requires an additional 25 ms of response time. Reset Set Flip Flop: The RS Flip Flop logic level function block allows you latch a state enabling sequential logic. You can configure the flip-flop to invert the Set and/or Reset inputs and/or the Output. Nesting: Nesting allows you to create more than two logic levels effectively. Nesting is accomplished by connecting the output of a logic level function block to the first input of a logic level immediately below it (in the same column). Nesting can be performed in Logic column A or logic column B, but Nesting cannot cross-over from column A to column B. The following Logic Level function blocks support Nesting: AND, OR, XOR, NAND, NOR, AND with Restart, and OR with Restart. Invert I/O State: Inverting gives you the ability to reverse the state of an input or output without using a NOT function block. Inverting inputs can be applied to the AND, NAND, OR, NOR, XOR, AND with Restart, OR with Restart, and the RS Flip Flop logic functions. Inverting outputs can be applied to XOR, AND with Restart, OR with Restart, and the RS Flip Flop logic functions. To invert, right-click the input or output connection and click Invert. When inverted, the connection point is hollow. To remove the invert, right-click the input and click Revert. When reverted, the connection point becomes solid. The Output Loop and RS Flip Flop instructions are not in the lab. Please refer to the table in the lab manual for the section of the lab that covers Nested Logic and the Invert feature.
