1 Kilian Schwarz ALICE Computing Meeting GSI, October 7, 2009
GridKa status Kilian Schwarz ALICE Computing Meeting GSI, October 7, 2009

2 ALICE resources at GridKa
we will go in 2010 for 25% disk and tape, CPU increase stays same as 2009 (ca. 30%) - CPUs have already been ordered

3 ALICE resources at GridKa (CPU)

4 GridKa CPU Share

5 GridKa CPU usage vobox1 (32bit) ==> gLite WMS ==> gLite CE ==> Wns (largely 64bit) to be replaced by 64bit vobox (already existing and installed with WLCG software. AliEn installation and tests have to follow ASAP) vobox2 (64bit) ==> CREAM CE ==> Wns

6 GridKa performance

7 Run Period August September 2009
Software dir WMS CREAM DB CREAM connection WMS Job profile Software dir readonly Production pause # job dirs too high (CREAM) Run Period August September 2009

8 D-Grid ressources 20% on top of GridKa HEP resources
plan was to use them via yet another vobox from GSI for German ALICE users disagreement of CERN: resources in ALICE Grid are supposed to be available for everybody. No resources for German ALICE members exclusively solution: ? ressources used by ALICE world if D-Grid does not use them set up a new and independend VO (ALICE- Germany) and try from there

9 storage at GridKa new SE to follow: ALICE::FZK::TAPE
full xrootd based storage solution in the sense of WLCG (SRM interface, tape backend, space reservation, many more features) pilot project. If this succeeds ALICE will move completely to xrootd xrootd will be pushed to become an „official“ solution Generally: tape usage rather low

10 GridKa storage solution
