5 Tough Conditions Out there Total Cost of Ownership
TCO What do we mean by TCO? Tough Conditions Out there Total Cost of Ownership Tomorrow Conditions OK The diesel engine + gas oil fuel supremacy is easy to explain with a technical and economical analysis. Nevertheless this solution continue to contain some drawbacks.

21 Trucks’ fuel history More than a new product …a new chapter in the road transport ! 1770 Wood 1850 Coal 1899 Petrol 1930 Gas Oil 2008 Natural Gas 2016 Bio CNG-LNG The diesel supremacy on road transport has been so long that we tend to forget that trucks have not always use gas oil ! Indeed they even not always have used an oil-derived product ! The Fardier of Cugnot, generally recognized as the first Truck had a steam engine powered by wood. In a sense it was extremely modern as it uses a 100% renewable biofuel with a neutral CO2 balance. For the rest you shouldn't expect much in terms of speed, noise and autonomy not to mention the particulates emissions ! On CO2 perspective the second step when coal replaces wood and fissile renewable energy was a real disaster environmentally speaking that the petrol and then the diesel internal combustion engines would have attenuated if the transport need would not have grown continuously. 2008 was an important year as we have seen the development of the firsts significant private fleets using CNG essentially for urban mission followed closely by the first tractors in 2010. This brings us today with all of you having or intending to buy CNG or LNG trucks for the numerous advantages they bring not only in terms of noise and pollutant emission but also in terms of TCO. And the best is still to come. Any IVECO Natural Power vehicle cans run on 2 fuels Natural gas and biomethane. So your investments allows you at any time to enjoy again the possibility to run fully on biomass like in with 21st century's performances ! So as you can see it took 250 years of trials and error and hight tech engineering to find a way to combine and low-cost mass transport tool able to serve the need of our economy without harming our heals or consuming fosile and carbonated energy. This is what we are going to show you now. TCO CO2

22 …Possible alternatives
Time for a change… …Possible alternatives

23 Main replacement candidates
Which key for the success ? Be as good as diesel Total Cost of Ownership Reliability & Safety Pay load & Versatility Comfort & performances Secure lower externalities Reduced CO2 emission Reduced air pollutants Reduced noise Reduced oil dependency Benefit from an efficient fuel distribution Safety regulations & Taxes Profitable distribution network H2 Hybrid Electric Diesel CNG LNG As the combination of diesel engine / gas-oil fuel is supported by more than a century of continuous improvement it is solution particularly hard to beat. A real alternative should first of all be as good as diesel on : Total Cost of Ownership Reliability & Safety Pay load & Versatility Comfort & performances Bring significant Environmental advantages : Reduced CO2 emission Reduced air pollutants Reduced noise Reduced oil dependency And Benefit from an efficient fuel distribution Safety regulations & Taxes Profitable distribution network Many alternative have been tested but only CNG and LNG is able to surpass the diesel performance today and for the years to comes Ethanol Bio-diesel

26 IVECO Natural Power Technology
The cleanest technology on the market and a global answer Air Quality Global Warming 10 to 95% CO2 emissions cut, that is yearly : Up to 20 tons of CO2 saving per truck Up to 125 tons of CO2 saving per truck with Bio-CNG/LNG Noise IVECO Natural Power is a future-proof technology as it provides a solution for both local and global pollutants thanks to Important CO2 savings with natural gas and close to zero with biomethane Ultra low NOx and PM emissions Lower noise in all condition, a key feature to perform night urban missions with minimum disturbances 3 dB noise reduction Piek Quiet Truck Certification (-72 dB) Night time delivery possible Stralis NP HOMOLOGATED EMISSIONS VERSUS EURO VI LIMITS 70 % less NOx 99 % less PM 90 % Less NMHC 88 % less Methane 26

27 IVECO Natural Power Technology
As good on road than on engine bench CNG-LNG vs DIESEL Euro VI NOx Emissions -54% NO2 Emissions -96% CO2 Emissions -10% (15 ton / truck / year) Externalities (2009/33 EU) (-14%) Fuel consumption -15% (kg vs liters) ON BOARD EMISSION MEASUREMENTS (PEMS) BIO CNG-LNG vs DIESEL Euro VI NOx Emissions -54% NO2 Emissions -96% CO2 Emissions -80% (-120 ton / truck / year) Externalities (2009/33 EU) (-80%) Fuel consumption -15% (kg vs liters) ON BOARD EMISSION MEASUREMENTS (PEMS) It is important to notice that Natural Power Technology keeps its promises on road as demonstrated by the PEMS test done by ADEME in France. Both diesel and NG truck have demonstrated bellow Euro 6 emissions levels but the Natural Power one was the clear winner in Absolut term. To be noticed the very low NO2 emissions and the very good fuel consumption results, grant of potential TCO savings.

29 IVECO Natural Power Vehicles in Europe
New market types and size made possible thanks to product evolution 1996 2008 2012 2014 Q4-2016 Refuse collection (18-26t CNG, 240hp, 120km) + Urban distribution (18-26t CNG, 270hp, 300km) + Regional distribution (44t CNG, 330hp, 400km) + inter-regional routes (44t L-CNG, 330hp, 700km) + International routes (44t LNG, 400hp, 1500km) On the Heavy Duty Truck segment IVECO has been particularly visionary. We did not react to a market demand. We did the investment at first, create new models suitable for new mission. In this journey the launch of the first articulate truck in 2010, was the start of a market revolution : From Refuse collection to goods and food transports, From public markets to private markets, From urban to Extra urban mission, Fom Low mileages to High mileages, From Sustainability as only driver to Sustainability and TCO as main drivers From a niche to potentially a mass market. We will see next how we intend to reach this final goal. Sustainability-driven market Sustainability + TCO-driven market Niche market Volume market
