5 Administrative Guide 2. Employees Hired On or After January 1, 1992 Employees with a benefits-eligible hire date on or after January 1, 1992 qualify as an Official University Retiree when all the following requirements are met: At least 10 years of benefits-eligible service, and Age and years of service total 75 or more. This rule is called "The Rule of 75."

6 Administrative Guide 2.1.10 1. Employees Hired Before January 1, 1992
Employees with a benefits-eligible hire date before January 1, 1992 can qualify as an Official University Retiree one of two ways: Complete at least 10 years of benefits-eligible service and are at least age 55 at the time of retirement, or Meet the "Rule of 75" [see (2) below].

Faculty may be reimbursed up to $1000 on a one time basis for financial planning related to retirement
