22. Building an IB Diploma Program
The Basics
IB is a two year program, junior and senior years only. A total of 13 credits, 6.5 each year.
IB external exams are in May, most will be in senior year.
The Courses:
Group 1-- Language A- English Literature
Group 2-- Language B- Language Acquisition
Group 3-- Individuals and Societies
Group 4-- Experimental Sciences
Group 5-- Mathematics
Group 6-- The Arts*
*Group 6 Replacement, Groups 1-5
Requirements:
3 courses at Higher Level (HL)
HL- 240 Hours in 2 years
3 Courses at Standard Level (SL)
SL- 150 Hours in 2 years- single period
SL- 150 Hours in 1 year- double period
