India’s rank in the Doing Business Report 2015 was 142 among 189 countries, which improved to 130 in the Doing Business Report, The Government of India has emphasized the importance of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ as a major pillar of the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Engineering products is the most dynamic sector and constitutes around 40% share in India's manufacturing exports. India aspires to raise the share of manufacturing in India's GDP from current 16% to 25% by 2020. The campaign is designed to facilitate investment, foster innovation, protect intellectual property and build best-in-class manufacturing infrastructure. In turn, a boost to manufacturing will create jobs, increase purchasing power and create a larger market for manufacturers. Aims to turn the country into a global manufacturing hub.
