The blessing of the Triune God for every believer
St. Peter Worship Sunday, June 11, 2017
2
Welcome to St. Peter! Today the Christian Church celebrates that we believe in a Triune God. Triune comes from the Latin “tri” (three) and “unus” (one). Our God is triune because he tells us in his Word that he is three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but only one God. Indeed, our God is a great and majestic God. May we be granted the faith to always believe and steadfastly cling to this doctrine of the Trinity!
3
Welcome to St. Peter! There are friendship registers at the end of each row. Please take a moment to give us your information so we have a record of your time with us today.

For Our Guests If you have questions, let us try to help. Speak with an usher, greeter, or the person next to you. If you’d like to learn more about St. Peter and it’s ministry, please talk to a pastor or member after the service.

Our Communion Practice
In the Sacrament of Holy Communion, Jesus gives us his true body and blood. We express unity with our Savior and those who share our faith and stand on the teachings of God’s Word. Therefore, we invite to our altar those who are members of our church or the WELS. Visitors and guests who wish to commune are asked to speak to a pastor before the service begins.

Summer Service Schedule
This summer we maintain our schedule for worship at 7:45 & 10:30am with a family Bible study between services from approximately 9:10-10:10am.

41
A CONFESSION OF FAITH FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
All: Whoever wishes to be saved must, above all else, hold to the true Christian faith. Whoever does not keep this faith pure in all points will certainly perish forever.
42
A CONFESSION OF FAITH FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
Pastor: Now this is the true Christian faith: All: We worship one God in three persons and three persons in one God, Without mixing the persons or dividing the divine being.
43
A CONFESSION OF FAITH FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
Pastor: For each person—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—is distinct, but the deity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is one, equal in glory and coeternal in majesty.
44
A CONFESSION OF FAITH FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
All: What the Father is, so is the Son, and so is the Holy Spirit. Pastor: The Father is uncreated, the Son uncreated, the Holy Spirit uncreated; The Father is infinite, the Son infinite, the Holy Spirit infinite;
45
A CONFESSION OF FAITH FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
Pastor: The Father is eternal, the Son eternal, the Holy Spirit eternal; All: yet they are not three who are eternal, but there is one who is eternal, just as they are not three who are uncreated, nor three who are infinite,
46
A CONFESSION OF FAITH FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
All: but there is one who is uncreated and one who is infinite. Pastor: In the same way the Father is almighty, the Son is almighty, the Holy Spirit is almighty; yet they are not three who are almighty, but there is one who is almighty.
47
A CONFESSION OF FAITH FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
All: So the Father is God, the Son is God, the Holy Spirit is God; yet they are not three Gods, but one God. So the Father is Lord, the Son is Lord, the Holy Spirit is Lord; yet they are not three Lords, but one Lord.
48
A CONFESSION OF FAITH FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
Pastor: For just as Christian truth compels us to confess each person individually to be God and Lord, so the true Christian faith forbids us to speak of three Gods or three Lords.
49
A CONFESSION OF FAITH FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
All: The Father is neither made nor created nor begotten of anyone. The Son is neither made nor created, but is begotten of the Father alone. The Holy Spirit is neither made nor created nor begotten, but proceeds from the Father and the Son.
50
A CONFESSION OF FAITH FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
Pastor: So there is one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three Sons; one Holy Spirit, not three Holy Spirits. And within this Trinity none comes before or after; none is greater or inferior,
51
A CONFESSION OF FAITH FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
All: But all three persons are coequal and coeternal, so that, in every way, as stated before, all three persons are to be worshipped as one God and one God worshipped as three persons. Whoever wishes to be saved must have this conviction of the Trinity.
52
In thankfulness for our salvation, we support God’s work with our offerings.
53
Prayer of the Church
54
Lord’s Prayer All: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread.
55
Lord’s Prayer All: Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
56
Lord’s Prayer All: For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen
57
The Sacrament Pastor: The Lord be with you. All: And also with you. Pastor: Lift up your hearts. All: We lift them up unto the Lord.
58
The Sacrament Pastor: Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God. All: It is good and right so to do.
59
The Sacrament Pastor: It is truly good and right that we should at all times and in all places give you thanks, O Lord, holy Father, almighty and everlasting God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who preserves his Church to the end of time when he will come again as king to judge all people and take his own to glory. Therefore, with all the saints on earth and hosts of heaven, we praise your holy name and join their glorious song:
60
Holy, Holy, Holy (Sanctus)
All (Sung): Holy, holy, holy Lord God of power, God of might: heav’n and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
61
Words of Institution Pastor:
Our Lord Jesus Christ, on the night he was betrayed, took bread; and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
62
Words of Institution Pastor:
Then he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for you for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
63
The Sacrament Pastor: The peace of the Lord be with you always. All: Amen.
64
O Christ, Lamb of God All (Sung): O Christ, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world; have mercy on us. O Christ, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world; grant us your peace. Amen.
65
Distribution of Holy Communion
66
Pastor: O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good
Pastor: O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. All: And his mercy endures forever.
67
Pastor: O God the Father, source of all goodness, in your loving kindness you sent your Son to share our humanity. We thank you that through him you have given us pardon and peace in this sacrament. We also pray that you will not forsake us but will rule our hearts and minds by your Holy Spirit so that we willingly serve you day after day, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. All: Amen.
68
The Blessing The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord look on you with favor and give you peace. All: Amen.
