6 Transit promotes many conservative goals:
Economic development, which is both spurred and shaped by rail transit. Helping the poor move off welfare and into Jobs. Strengthening the bonds of community. The dominance of automobiles and highways is a product of massive government intervention in the marketplace, intervention stretching back to World War I. In countries such as Switzerland where government policy has been less one-sided, transit holds a far larger market share.

7 North metro commuters have the longest commute of anyone in the Southeast.
Although on many days it can be up to an hour and a half due to accidents or weather conditions.
