Overview UAteach in 5th year
Traditional licensure areas Push by Governor for CS class in every high school in the state TACT. NSF-funded grant to train in-service teachers UAteach students must add CS to other licensure areas

Reasons for Initial Licensure
Before, students must pick math or science major for initial licensure area Regardless of major, student takes 5 CS courses, adds UAteach minor, passes appropriate Praxis exams, recommend for initial CS licensure First “competency” based licensure instead of degree based licensure at undergrad level

6 courses to meet TESS and AR teaching standards Step I & II, K&L, CI, PBI, Internship 6 courses for CS content Programming Foundations I & II, Digital Design, Programming Paradigms, Research Methods, Internship
