JESUS, SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD?

Christian views :IS Jesus the saviour?
Essential questions: Is Jesus the only SavioUr?  Is faith in Christ necessary to be saved? PLURALISTs : ‘No.' That there are many paths to God, Jesus being only one of them. people do not have to believe in Christ to be saved. INCLUSIVISts: ‘Yes,‘ and ‘No’. Jesus has accomplished the work necessary to bring us back to God. Christ is the only Saviour, but people do not have to know about or believe in Christ to be saved.

EXCLUSIVISts: GOD atoned for our sins – he is the only way, the truth and the LIFE

Dec 6th TIME magazine : It would require much exotic calculation, however, to deny that the single most powerful figure—not merely in these two millennia but in all human history—has been Jesus of Nazareth.... [A] serious argument can be made that no one else’s life has proved remotely as powerful and enduring as that of Jesus.

Jesus our only savior ( 7 proofs )
Real life person grounded on historical basis vs mythological figures (precursors of the one and only God Saviour) God incarnate : His purpose was for the nations to seek after god and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him – though he was not far from anyone of us. For in him we love and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said,’ We are his offspring’ acts 17:27-28

Anselm (11th c theologian) our SavioUr must be fully man in order to take the place of men and die in their stead, and he must be fully God in order for the value of his sacrificial payment to satisfy the demands of our infinitely holy God.  No one else in the history of the world is both fully God and fully man.  No one else in the history of the world is conceived by the Spirit and born of a virgin mother.

3. A SAVIOUR MUST BE SINLESS Christ alone lived a sinless life: “a lamb without blemish and without spot” 1 Pet 1:19; Jesus “did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth” 1pet 2:22 4. WHAT HE SAID ABOUT HIMSELF : Jesus said, “I am the truth; follow me.”

5. RECORDED TESTIMONies FROM HIS CLOSEST FRIENDS : life details, extraordinary miracles, teachings etc 6. HIS TEACHINGS : Author of the Old Testament through His Spirit that worked thro’ the prophets. came to fulfil the Old Law, instigate a New Law / ‘a new covenant, ( ’all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth” )

7.HIS FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY : jesus would be born of a woman (Genesis 3:15; Galatians 4:4) who was a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:22), from the family of Abraham (Genesis 22:18; Luke 3:34), of the tribe of Judah (Genesis 49:10; Hebrews 7:14), of the royal line of David (2 Samuel 7:12; Luke 1:32), in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2), in order to bruise the head of Satan (Genesis 3:15; Galatians 4:4; Hebrews 2:12). He would appear during the time of the Roman Empire (Daniel 2:44; Luke 2:1), while Judah still possessed her own king (Genesis 49:10; Matthew 2:22).

conclusion There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12
