Registration applications
You must send the following documents: a complete application form evidence of your identity evidence of your qualification evidence of your good character evidence of insurance to practise in the UK evidence of your physical and mental health registration fee BIRTH CERT Certified either by your referee or a officer at the University Copy of passport FEES £750 or £100 at whatever point in year register 10 November rule Cheque vs draft or electronic transfer PROOF OF QUALIFICATION Original cert or letter signed by CHAIR OF EXAMINATION BOARD CHARACTER REFERENCE WIOC – from David Byfield MEDICAL REPORT See next screen. EVIDENCE OF INSURANCE Legal requirement is £3m. BCA WILL US or we need a copy of the coversheet

Evidence of identity Copy certified by someone of professional standing of either: your passport; or your original Birth Certificate and a document with a photograph, e.g., driving licence, ID card. evidence of a change to the name on the passport. Evidence of your qualification
To show you have achieved your chiropractic qualification you must provide: an original letter from the college signed by either the Principal or Academic Registrar; or an original qualification certificate.

Evidence of your good character
You must provide a character reference, which must: be written by someone of professional standing who has known you for 4+ years not be written by someone who is related to you or who is a patient or employee have an original signature be dated no more than 3 months before the date of registration Other documents we may need Certificate of Good Standing Police Record Check

Evidence of indemnity arrangements/ insurance
Your insurance must start before we register you To show you have insurance we need either: an from Sandy from BCA to the GCC an copy of your insurance policy schedule

Medical report Pro-forma medical to download from the website ( Please double check that your medical report: gives your full name is dated states that it is written either based on: 4 years of your medical notes, or an examination if notes are not available confirms that you are physically and mentally fit, or gives details of any health conditions you have and how they are being managed is signed by a GP, we cannot accept reports signed by someone else at the surgery Overseas nationals May also provide a medical from a UK GP and GP from their home state to cover the 4 years

Documents not in English
Certified translation of all documents document not in English. Translation must be from either: a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting ( or similarly qualified translator overseas; or a consular official or equivalent CERTIFICATE OF GOOD STANDING If registered with another regulator, such as HCPC, NMC CRIMINAL CONVICTIONS Must be declared on application form If have convictions will need to provide police check/ court extract Drink or drug related offences – will need to have a psychological health assessment Copy of passport If an overseas national or hold dual nationality Certified translation From institute of translation and interpreting ( REGISTRATION WILL COMMENCE ONCE PAYMENT HAS CLEARED OUR ACCOUNT. 10 November rule Can practice as soon as have confirmation registered – usually we .

Fees The GCC is not able to offer pro-rata fees. The same fee is payable at whatever point in the year you are registered The full fee must be paid before registration is granted Its not possible to pay the initial registration fee by instalments Register after 10 November and pay no retention fee Practising Non-practising New registration £750 £100 Retention £800

Important! all documents, except the evidence of ID and insurance must be originals copies whether scanned or posted are not accepted we cannot guarantee when registration will be granted we strongly suggest you do not book any patients until you have been granted registration

We will: we aim to check your application within 24 hours of its arrival. This does not mean you will be registered in 24 hours look at your documents to make sure they meet our requirements let you know if we need any more information by you with your registration number and start date once you have been registered post a letter confirming your registration and certificate to you provide you with a website user number to sign up to use the GCC website

Continuing Professional Development
The CPD year runs from 1 September to the end of the following August A full years CPD is 30 hours, 15 hours of which must include learning with others New Registrants must complete 2½ hours of CPD for each full month of the CPD year they are registered CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CPD year – 1 September to 31 August CPD requirement – also part year requirement Only need to complete CPD this year if registered before 1 August

At least half of your CPD must include learning with others
CPD must relate to your professional learning and development as a chiropractor and not your business or personal development At least half of your CPD must include learning with others You may be removed from the Register if you do not fill in your CPD record summary by 30 September It is preferred if you complete your CPD online CPD summary must be with us before retention can be granted If registered after 1 August then NO CPD requirement for that year Can complete CPD throughout year ONLINE

Retention on the register
Retention applies to all chiropractors registered before 10 November The retention process normally begins in autumn, around mid October Applications must arrive before 30 November Practising retention fee is £800 for Non practising is £100 Retention can be completed online RETENTION Registration year is 1 January to 31 December Fees are £800 for practising and £100 for non practising Retention in autumn. Usually starts early September Must be with us by 30 November CAN COMPLETE RETENTION APPLICATION ONLINE
