59 THINKING MOMENT… What might happen if you save a Photoshop file with many layers as a JPG file? DISCUSS… JPG files are not layered; if you save it as a JPG and do not keep the PSD, the layers will all be glued together and you can’t edit them separately anymore. However, to upload something to an online photo album or website, it cannot be a PSD file. So, always keep the PSD as a backup. It’s a much bigger file, but it’s bigger for that very reason.
