I’ve read my score and I’m ready to quit.
All of us are probably somewhat gullible, about some things... (we’ll get to your score in a second...) For example we read something outlandish in an , and not only do we believe it, but we pass it on... We believe the salesman when he says the mileage indicator broke the day the little old lady came in to trade in the car... We watch a two hour long infomercial and find ourselves buying some new “amazing” nutritional supplement or piece of exercise equipment... Yes, we’re all gullible at times. But the hope is that we won’t be gullible when it really matters. No one wants to be suckered into buying a bad parachute on the day of their first skydiving lesson! When the chips are down, and your life is on the line...you can’t afford to make a gullible decision. Do you ever think about the fact that one day you will die? It’s sobering isn’t it? Life has so many joys... it has so much love and laughter, but the cold fact of death is the ultimate wet blanket. Most of the world believes that they are pretty good people who will probably go to heaven (if there is a heaven) when they die. How about you? Are you a good person? If so, are you good enough to go to heaven? Here’s a quick test you can take to find out: Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and we've only looked at three of the Ten Commandments. Will you be innocent or guilty on the Day of Judgment? Don’t be gullible enough to believe you’re probably good enough to get into heaven... listen to your conscience! You know that you will be guilty, and therefore end up in Hell. But that's not God's will, He provided a way for you to be forgiven. He sent His Son to take your punishment: “God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus was crucified as the punishment for your sins. If you will repent (confess and forsake your sins) and place your faith (trust) in Jesus Christ, then Jesus’ sacrifice will pay for your sins... God will forgive every sin you’ve ever committed and give you the gift of everlasting life. You could pray something like this: "Dear God, I repent of all of my sins (name them). This day I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Please forgive me and grant me your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen" There is nothing magical about these words, it’s the attitude of your heart that God cares about. After you’ve done this, read the Bible daily and obey what you read (see John 14:21). God will never let you down. By the way, here’s your score... all of the true and false questions were true... just as this message is true. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
