WW Knowingly disobeying God’s laws David knowingly disobeyed! – 2 Samuels 11; Psalm 32 The truth is, we all do it sometimes – 1 John 1:8, 10 Continuing in disobedience is the “first step” in developing a stubborn heart!

WW Ignoring all correction David was corrected multiple times! – 2 Samuel 11:2-4, ; 12:1-7 Correction comes in many ways – Hebrews 3:7-12; 4:7 The more a person ignores correction, the more his conscience becomes seared! – 1 Timothy 4:1-2; Ephesians 4:17-19

WW Refusing to repent David refused to repent in spite of all the correction! – Psalm 32:3a; 2 Samuel 11 There are lots of reasons why people refuse to repent – Romans 1:18-32; Ephesians 4:18

WW In danger of God’s discipline God disciplined David to get him to repent! – Psalm 32:3-4; 2 Samuel 12 God disciplines His children! – Hebrews 12:7-11 God will NOT tolerate stubbornness indefinitely! – Hebrew 2:1-4; 3:7-11

WW Ultimately suffering God’s Wrath! David avoided God’s wrath by repenting – Psalm 32:5-7; 2 Samuel 12:1-14 There is a point of no return – Romans 2:1-11; Hebrews 6:4-6 God is not willing that any should perish but that all would come to repentance! – 2 Peter 3:9

WW Humble yourself David finally humbled himself – 2 Sam.12:7-16; Psalm 51:1-9 Humility is essential! – Psalm 51:16-17; James 4:10; 1 Peter 5:6 Confessing your sin – James 5:16; 1 John 1:9

WW Surrender yourself to God David surrendered his will to God – Psalm 51:10-12 When we make a decision to follow Jesus we surrender our lives to Him – Matthew 16:24-25; Acts 2:36-41; Ephesians 4:17-24 Surrender is a daily decision! – Luke 9:23

WW Commit yourself to faithful obedience David rededicated his life to obeying God – Psalm 51:13-15 We must devote ourselves to faithful obedience! – Ephesians 4:18-24; Philippians 2:12-13 Faithful obedience is also daily decision!
