11 Earth Earth is a beautiful planet It gives us what we need:
Food, Shelter, Air and Water

12 How do we treat the Earth?
Pollute it (air and water) Air pollution is causing the Earth to heat up causing climate change. Air pollution comes from cars, aeroplanes and factories producing CO2.

14

15 How do we treat the Earth?
Pollute it (air and water) Water pollution is when chemicals or substances contaminate the water. They get into water mainly by human causes. We rely on water for ourselves (drinking) and for animals. Polluted water kills people and animals.

16

18 What can we do? Try to walk/ cycle more to school
Only travel in the car when you need to Q: How did you travel to school today? How could you travel tomorrow? Not throwing litter into water sources

19 How do we treat the Earth?
Waste it (water, electricity, clothes, items and food) We do not always use things properly and waste them (e.g. some people leave the taps or lights on).

20

21

22 What can we do? Only use what we need Recycle unused paper etc.
Turn the lights and water off when not using them Energy monitor (check lights/ computer switched off)

23 How do we treat the Earth?
Throw litter on it Due to laziness people throw litter. At our school and in our town there is lots of litter.

27 What can we do? Picking up the litter (Downley and in the school grounds) KS1 will be collecting litter in the school grounds KS2 will be collecting litter around Downley

28 Rules for Litter Picking

32 Responsibility to Vote
On Thursday 8th June 2017 the country will be casting their vote for their local MP. This MP will represent them in the House of Commons The party with the most MPs will become the government

33 Why Vote? It is anyone over 18s democratic right It gives you the choice of who to be represented by It will affect people’s everyday life in the UK People fought for the right to vote

34 Responsibility Voting should be taken seriously and it is best to watch the news, read the parties manifestos and think deeply about what you want.

35

36 As we reflect, think about how SHOWING RESPONSIBILITY makes the world a better place to be.
