Objective Essential Question
Students will be able to write polynomial equations when given the zeroes. How can you use your prior knowledge to help you determine a method to solve problems?

Reviewing expectations & the log
Your phone will stay out of sight the entire class period. If I see it, I take it. You should come to class on time and prepared with at least a pencil and paper If I see you talking while Iβm talking, you will sign the log. If you are not in your assigned seat when the bell rings, you will be marked absent. I take attendance as soon as I come in the class. If I tell you to work on a problem, I expect you to be on task and focused If you are not exempt from homework, you must attempt every problem! Even if you think it may be wrong, I need to see work of some sort! If you do not meet one of these expectations, you will sign the log.

If given zeroes of a polynomialβ¦
You are going to work backwards to get the equation of the polynomial. Write the zero as a binomial. FOIL the binomials. Multiply/distribute to any trinomials.
7
Zeroes are 1, 2, and 3 Write the zero as a binomial.
FOIL the binomials. Multiply/distribute to any trinomials.
8
ZEROES are -2, 1, and 3 Write the zero as a binomial.
FOIL the binomials. Multiply/distribute to any trinomials.

Complex and irrational conjugate theorem
Complex Conjugate Theorem: If f is polynomial function with real coefficients, and a+bi is an imaginary zero, then a-bi is also a zero. Irrational Conjugate Theorem: If f is a polynomial function with rational coefficients, and π+ π is a zero, then πβ π is also a zero.
