Dual Enrollment (DE) Dual Enrollment in Virginia
“Community college coursework taken by high school students…that counts towards high school graduation and is designed to result in earned college credits.”2 “Should be provided at little or no cost to them [students] or their families.” 2 Fall 2016: 33,539 dual enrollment students statewide; 1,700 at PVCC1 Majority take DE classes in their respective high schools DE graduates 2016: 54% enrolled in a 4-yr; 27% at a community college; 19% no post-secondary2 Started in 1988

Guaranteed Transfer Agreements
Through system-wide agreements, students who graduate from a VCCS school with an associate's degree and a minimum grade point average may obtain GUARANTEED admission. Over 30 Transfer Agreements between VCCS and public and private colleges and universities in Virginia; including 7 agreements with out-of- state private institutions (including WGU).1 Admissions and articulation components Students who transfer from a VCCS institution and complete a bachelor's degree at a public college or university can save more than $16k in tuition and fees.3
