Living Benefits In September 2014 introduced to provide some support and assistance to members in difficult circumstances. Changing times bring changing needs. These benefits provide help where needed at no additional cost to the current premium.

It is not a medical aid It does not offer any financial services or cash loans It does not offer any advice re funerals or the NAC Burial Fund

B. TRAUMA & ASSAULT 24-hour helpline to activate emergency assistance services and transport to nearest, most appropriate medical facility if bodily injured Referral for psychiatric consultation where necessary

Trauma & Assault – Definition
Trauma arises from incidents or circumstances either non-violent or violent Assault is defined as “a bodily injury sustained by violent external and visible means”

B. TRAUMA & ASSAULT Covers the following: Rape Hi-jacking Child abuse Suicide or death of close family members Domestic violence and / or abuse Kidnapping / Abduction Woman abuse, etc. Armed robbery and assault

C. HIV PROTECTION TREATMENT 24-hour emergency assistance in the event of assault, accidental exposure to HIV or any other trauma including: Psychological counselling 3 consultations with a specialist (per incident) 3 HIV blood tests (per incident) 30 starter pack of antiretroviral medication 7 day course of STI (Sexually Transmitted Infections) medication

B. ACTION REQUIRED: This presentation will be made available to all Bishops and Rectors. Appoint one/two member/s in the congregation to be the provider of information on the products available. Arrange congregational information evenings to educate members.
