Daniel Goleman’s Model Self Awareness Social Awareness Self Management Relationship Management DG uses a four quadrant Model. We have chosen to use Four Triangles to reflect to central position of “Self-Awareness” to EI - without Self Awareness we cannot have EI We have also chosen to include to other elements – Core Skills which underpin all of the elements and Inspirational Leadership as the key quality that will emerge from being EI

Recognising and using empathy Understanding and entering someone else’s world Establishing rapport with others Recognising and acknowledging the behaviours and emotions of others Recognising and understanding organizational values/behaviours/beliefs Social Awareness Recognising and acknowledging the behaviours and emotions of others – This relates to both positive and negative behaviours and emotions. The process of recognising and acknowledging both our own and other people’s emotions and behaviours cn and does help us to deal with their impact more effectively.
