6 Courses As you can see there are different areas covered.
Most of us here at DLI would probably find the Desktop Curricula area most useful, though some might find Cyber Warfare, Ground Radar, or the Business curriculum of use.

7 Desktop Curricula The Desktop Curricula area contains lessons on most of the applications we have on our work computers. Most of us are using Microsoft Office 2013, so let’s see what’s in there. Click Here

8 Desktop Curricula The Air Force recently put an application called Lync on our desktops, and no one really knew why we needed it. Then Microsoft renamed the product to Skype for Business, and we still didn’t know why we needed it. So, let’s open the Lync folder and see what courses the portal has to offer on this mystery application. Click Here

9 Microsoft Lync 2013 Our training allows us to access both Lync 2013 and Skype for Business lessons. Let’s check out the lesson on Lync Note: In case you were wondering, the little icon at the end of each line lets you know whether you have accessed the course and what your progress in it is. Click Here

10 The lesson will open in a new window
The lesson will open in a new window. The navigation will appear to the left and the lesson content is in the right panel. Click on the Table of Contents to see the course sections and activities.

11 Most lessons start with a Pre-test so you can see whether you already know the material and to give you an idea of what to expect. The lessons are usually video based, though some may be slide presentations. Each lesson includes an estimated time it will take you to complete it.

12 Here is the lesson on the Quick Lync Bar.

13 Lessons generally end with a test.

14 And at the end of the test you will receive a score.
(I didn’t do so well on this one)

Maybe you don’t have time to take the course on Lync at the moment, or perhaps you prefer to learn from books. Another option available to you on the e-Learning portal is to find a book on your topic on Books24X7. Clicking on the Books24X7 link will open the library in a new window. Click here for access to e-Books.

16 Books24X7 You can search for books here and create a collection of them to read later if you like.

17 Books24X7 Here’s a book I found on Microsoft Lync that covers the user interface in chapter 1. This might provide the answers I want.

18 Books24X7 Clicking on the book title takes me to its Table of Contents and I can begin reading.

19 Books24X7 Books24X7 let’s you read books on your mobile devices too.
