V noticeable with deployment that things like inventory management, bread and butter of pharmacy, is bereft in other areas. Mneion linking the prodcut to pt throughout, GTINs, GLNs and GSRNs etc Major service change for us. Getting more pharmacy staff onto the wards to support patients Describe my utopian process of Dr prescribes out it comes with a label on. When stock used, automatically ordered through the robot. Go to north bristol- they’ve even got robots delivering medicines to the wards! So there is no reason why, with agreed standards that allows data to flow, we can move staff to next to the pt bedside and automate a lot of this. GS1 standards as the enbaler to interface with them GS1 GS1

Major service change for us. Getting more pharmacy staff onto the wards to support patients Describe my utopian process of Dr prescribes out it comes with a label on. When stock used, automatically ordered through the robot. Nurse scans to check right med prescribed and in date etc. Details are against the pt record to aid recall etc. So there is no reason why, with agreed standards that allows data to flow, we can move staff to next to the pt bedside and automate a lot of this. GS1 standards as the enbaler to interface with them GS1 GS1

21 GS1 FMD dm+d

22 How Does is Fit All Together?
Unique Identifier Product Level GTIN (dm+d= AMPP) Product, Supplier & Pack Size (amoxycillin 500mg capsules, GSK, 21 caps) GTIN + Extensions GTIN+ Batch Number, expiry date & serialisation number The NHS dictionary of medicines and devices (dm+d) dm+d is a dictionary of descriptions and codes which represent medicines and devices in use across the NHS. It is delivered through a partnership between Health and Social Care Information Centre and the NHS Business Services Authority and provides the recognised NHS Standard for uniquely identifying medicines and medical devices used in patient care. dm+d enables clear, consistent recording and communication of information relating to medicines and devices used in patient care. It provides consistency in how medicines and medical devices are expressed through a robust published Editorial Policy. Suppliers not just be to GS1 compliant but handle these extesnions to allow that data to flow around the system
