1. Introduction Level 1
This is the preliminary training for MRI Safety at the CBBI facility. For level 1, review the three safety videos (Siemens, Shellock and Kanal). They all are informative. Read over the SOP’s, understand why we have operating zones at the center. After reviewing the material, send me your test answers and contact me so we can meet at the center. Again, this is the precursor to the level 2 certification.
Level 1: limited access to the MRI - Unaccompanied access to zones 1 and 2 - May NOT enter zone 3 (i.e., the console room) or zone 4 (i.e., the magnet room) without a level 2 operator

At UD Imaging Research Facility you must follow the Zone recommendations

4. American College of Radiology Zone Recommendations
Zone 1: Is the unrestricted area. Anyone is free to move about. You will have the participant complete the MRI screening form in Zone 1.
Zone 2: Is restricted to card key access. All persons must be accompanied by Safety Trained Personnel.
Zone 3: Consists of the scanner control rooms. Two Safety Trained Personnel must be available after normal working hours.
Zone 4: Consists of the MRI scanner. MRI Screening Form must be completed before entering.
