1) The professor wants this scholar to arrive next week, what is the possibility to rush his/her DS-2019 without all the required documents, e.g. the offer letter from the dean’s office?
2) The scholar cannot arrive on time, what should we do to amend his DS-2019?
3) The scholar wants to come to Rice but he/she is now sponsored by another university, how do we transfer him/her to come here?
4) The professor wants this scholar to come for short term visit, but the funding does not meet the $2000 per month requirement. Can we make it up with a housing provision by the professor? Is there anyway to substitute housing, transportation, to decrease the $2000 monthly amount required of J scholars?
5) Our J scholar is stuck at the visa application process due to a security check, how can Rice/OISS help to expedite the visa process?
