Racer Academic Completion Report
Official Murray State University Degree Audit Used by Registrar and Graduation Offices to determine academic progress toward graduation ALL coursework must be included on RACR Check RACR every semester to be sure that all coursework is included and in the right place Your Academic Advisor, the RACR Office, and the Registrar’s Office can help.

RACR – First Box “Major” may mean “Area.”
Must declare AREA or MAJOR at 45 credit hours,. If MAJOR, must declare MINOR or SECOND MAJOR at 60 credit hours. To declare area or major, see f or information and forms. To declare minor, go to Registrar’s Office.

Note Bulletin Year Note: “Credits Applied” INCLUDES courses currently in progress and courses for which you are registered in upcoming terms.

RACR – Degree Requirements
Credit Hour and GPA requirements “Transitions” is required for first-year students . In most cases, a 100T class counts toward any major. If you are a transfer or have changed majors, make sure that your 100T counts.

RACR – University Studies
Note: IF your program has “Specifically Required University Studies” courses, these will be included in a box that follows your degree requirements. Make sure to choose any University Studies courses that will fulfill these requirements.

RACR – Honors Sequence Replaces University Studies
Note: If a program has “Specifically Required University Studies” courses, these courses must be completed as well. Some HON courses fulfill these requirements. Check with the Honors Advisor or Director before registering for these courses.

AREA does not require a minor; MAJOR requires minor or second major.
RACR – Area or Major AREA does not require a minor; MAJOR requires minor or second major.

RACR – Minor If you have an AREA, MINOR is not required.
If you have a double MAJOR, MINOR is not required. If you have a single MAJOR, MINOR is required.

Program-Specific Requirements
If your program has “Specifically Required University Studies” courses or other special requirements like co-requisites or support courses, you will find additional boxes on the RACR for these requirements. If the same courses are required in Major and Minor, or in Major and Second Major, ask your Academic Advisor about a Waiver or Substitution. Contact for additional help.

“AAPR” in Area, Major, or Minor: AAPR means Advisor Approved Electives
The Academic Advisor for the AAPR program must submit a Course Exception form listing courses approved for the AAPR or contact the RACR Office. See your Academic Advisor for AAPRs in Area or Major; see the department chair for AAPRs in Minor.

IMPORTANT: Unrestricted Electives: Additional Hours Toward Degree
Transfer credit that has not been evaluated as equivalent (often TRN 100 or TRN 300 courses) and other courses that may be eligible for substitution in University Studies, Area, Major, or Minor may be here – discuss these courses with your Academic Advisor. It is up to you to have these courses evaluated!

Make sure ALL coursework is on your RACR!
Dual Credit, AP, or other credit from pre-college Community College courses Transfer courses Online or courses taken “at home” ALL coursework that should count toward your degree MUST be on your RACR Contact for help in applying outside coursework to your RACR

A few basics: A course will populate into the RACR in the first slot for which it is appropriate. In general, a course in University Studies MAY be applied to an Area, Major, or Minor. In general, a course in the Area, Major, or Minor may only count in one of these three. If a course is required in more than one place, ask your Academic Advisor Your Academic Advisor will review your RACR for accuracy when you meet for Advanced Scheduling Advising. Your Advisor and the RACR Office can help move courses to their proper place s on your RACR.
