Japan and America Before the attacks Japan and the USA had been having peace talks because in 1940 Japan had joined with the axis powers of Germany and Italy. The day of infamy – December 7th 1941
Pearl harbour was a major US navy port in Hawaii. It was important because of its position in the pacific ocean. On the 7th of December 1941 Japan launched a surprise attack on the ships that were in the harbour. Watch the video and answer the questions about the attack. Hitler declares war on America
On the 11th December 1941 Hitler and Mussolini (the leader of Italy) declare war on America.
