Who is eating who? The Antarctic food web is relatively simple compared to other ecosystems – there are fewer species, but greater numbers of them.

Krill… Krill means “whale food” in Norwegian. Krill are ‘shrimp-like’ fish and are a key part of the Antarctic food web, with many animals feeding on them. They are extremely abundant, although recently their numbers have been dropping.

Who killed the Krill? 30 years ago, Antarctica’s waters were filled with krill - the main food for just about every resident. Today, much of the krill have gone missing. What has happened to them? And who is responsible for their disappearance?

Your aim is to discover out who is guilty of this terrible crime.
Who killed the Krill? There are six suspects, and each group will be representing one of them. Your aim is to discover out who is guilty of this terrible crime. Use the profile provided to learn about your suspect and complete the boxes on your worksheet.. Each group will then nominate 2 representatives to feedback to the class. Other groups will complete the table for each suspect.
