COPERT 4 Training 2. COPERT versions and recent updates
Version 8.1 (May 2011) vs. version 6.1 (February 2009)
2
Updated Mileage Degradation Parameters (v7.x)
Post-Euro 3 gasoline PCs and LDVs (and Euro 1 & 2 vehicles in case of an enhanced I&M scheme) on the basis of the results of the ARTEMIS project LDVs use the parameters of the l PC capacity class, in the absence of more specific data Consistent with the Guidebook 2009 Tier 3 COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
3
Hot Emission Factors for PTWs (v7.x)
Sources: ARTEMIS project Data from EMPA, Data from L-VEHs project (ACEM measurements) COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
4
Minor methodological changes (v7.x)
Euro 4 gasoline PC and LDV CH4 cold emission factors => Euro 5 and 6 (these were zero in v6.x) CO, NOx, VOC and CH4 Hot Emission Factors for Euro 3 to 6 LPG PC were set equal to corresponding GPC PM, NH3 hot and cold EFs for conventional thru Euro 6 LPG PCs set correspondingly equal to ECE 15/04 to Euro 6 GPC l (used to be zero in v6.x) Default mean cumulative fleet mileage values introduced for LPG PCs, based on GPC ones COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
5
COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
New EFs for HDVs (v8.0) Updated CO, NOx, VOC, PM (exhaust) and FC emission factors for HDV Based on HBEFA 3.1 No changes for urban CNG Buses Result to significant increases of NOx emissions (especially Euro V vehicles) Differentiated between EGR and SCR technologies COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
6
Example NOx (HDT Rigid 14-20 t)
COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
7
Example NOx (Articulated 34-40t)

8
COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
Hybrids (v8.0) Increased the minimum speed limit of hot emission factors for Hybrid PCs 20 km/h instead of 10 km/h Previously the methodology resulted to negative NOx hot emission factors with speed values lower than 20 km/h Now, all driving below 20 km/h has the same EF as for 20 km/h COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)

COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
Euro 4 to 6 CH4 (v8.1) Updated CH4 Hot and Cold Emission Factors for Euro 4 to 6 diesel LDV and PC EF(CH4, Euro 4) = (EF(CH4, Euro 3) / EF(VOC, Euro 3)) * EF(VOC, Euro 4) EF(CH4, Euro 5) = (EF(CH4, Euro 3) / EF(VOC, Euro 3)) * EF(VOC, Euro 5) EF(CH4, Euro 6) = (EF(CH4, Euro 3) / EF(VOC, Euro 3)) * EF(VOC, Euro 6) COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)

COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
LPG N2O (v8.1) N2O Euro 5 and 6 LPG = N2O Euro 5 and 6 gasoline PC COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
11
Max mileage for degradation (v8.1)
Maximum value of cumulative mileage is set for HEF calculation of N2O and NH3 The maximum value is set to 250,000 km Further ageing is considered to result to equal emissions to a 250 Mm aged vehicle COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
12
COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
Correction (v8.1) If cold-start mileage fraction was larger than urban share then HDV urban CH4, N2O and NH3 emissions for HDVs were zero. COPERT 4 Training (2. Versions)
