Murder Mystery Purpose of the activity – There is an underlying psychological aspiration! This is to “form” and “storm” activity. I want us to build effective collaborative behaviour within the group.

Murder Hunt Rules Class sits in circle Every learner has a clue card
Every learner keeps their own card and does not show or give to anyone else One person in group is allowed to write Learners cannot leave their places Only when six answers have been written can you speak to tutor and confirm answers correct.

Will psychology help me as a teacher?
One view: “There appears to be no evidence that the study of educational psychology has had any measurable effect on teachers or the quality of teaching.” The Magic of Psychology in Teacher Education, LYNN FENDLER Journal of Philosophy of Education, Vol. 46, No. 3, 2012 Another view: Yes, it will definitely help you. But, teachers should be careful about how they use research findings from cognitive psychology. Only take what's useful and practical, advises Tim Taylor:

Use of objectives – Why do teachers use lesson objectives? Could you have a lesson without objectives? Use of a recap – Why do teachers have a recap at the start of their lesson? Icebreakers – What is the purpose of an icebreaker? When would you complete icebreakers with your students?
