3 Introduction The United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland occupies most of the territory of the British isles and consists of four countries: England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Today we are going to talk about their capitals and their places of interests.

4 National emblems The different parts of Great Britain have their own emblems. The national emblem of England is the red rose. The thistle is the emblem of Scotland. The emblems of Wales are the daffodils and the leek. And the shamrock is the national emblem of Ireland

5 London Great Britain is an industrial country and most of the British people live in large cities. London is the capital of the UK. Besides, London is a great financial and cultural centre. London is divided into some parts, and the oldest part(The City)is famous for the Tower of London.

6 The Tower of London The Tower of London was founded by Julius Caesar and rebuilt in the 11th century by William the Conqueror. It is now a museum of arms. Besides, in the Tower you can see lots of black ravens . There is a legend that if ravens disappear, the British monarchy will fall.

7 St. Paul`s Cathedral The cathedral is one of the most famous and most recognisable sights of London. It was designed in 17th century and it took Sir Christopher Wren 35 years to build this masterpiece. St Paul's Cathedral is a working church with hourly prayer and daily services.

8 Modern city London is the city of the living history. But London`s attractions for tourists is not only its historic sites, but the fact that it is a modern city. The are many modern museums and galleries, such as the Museum of the Moving Image.

9 Edinburgh The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh. Edinburgh is one of the most photographed cities on earth, most of its attractions is better to explore on foot.

10 Edinburgh Castle Edinburgh Castle is a famous fortress which is situated on high hill called Castle Rock. The oldest part of the building is date back to about 1100.

11 The Palace of Holyroodhouse
The Palace of Holyroodhouse is the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland.  Located at the opposite end to Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace has served as the principal residence of the Kings and Queens of Scots and is a setting for official entertaining.

12 Cardiff Wales is famous for its castles. The capital and the main city of Wales is Cardiff. In the Cardiff you can find many attractive places, such as Cardiff Castle, National History Museum, Bute Park and many other places that are worth seeing.

13 Belfast The capital of Northern Ireland and its largest city is Belfast. Walking around the city is the best way to explore its history. Everywhere you go, beautiful architecture rises up along the streets. 

14 St. Anne`s Cathedral St Anne's Cathedral is the main cathedral of Ireland. It is not a cathedral in the truest sense of the word, a cathedral being a church housing the seat of a bishop. In the cathedral you can find a big organ, which is the second largest pipe-organ in Northern Ireland.

15 Conclusion As we see, Great Britain is a very interesting place to visit. So, if you have the opportunity to travel around the world, don`t forget to visit the UK!
