Adjectives An adjective is a word that is used to describe a noun. So far, we have only learned how to say, “_(the noun)_ is _(adjective)_.” But, we don’t always speak like that. Sometimes we eliminate “is” and we just describe things as they are. Example: “The ugly dress.” Example: “The blue dress.” In English an adjective goes in front of the noun when we eliminate the word “is”. In Spanish, we put the adjective afterward. Example “El vestido feo.” Example “El vestido azul.”

Practice – on the left side
The orange shirt. The ugly sweater. The pink skirt. The red tie. The pretty blouse. Remember, adjectives must match nouns in gender and number.
