PRACTICING ABSTINENCE UNTIL MARRIAGE IS A RESPONSIBLE DECISION Reasons to wait until marriage to have sex…

6 1-Religion To many people, this is probably the most important is reason. It is a sin to practice premarital sex. Avoid having conflicts with your parents or guardian Surveys indicate that 97% of parents and guardians, of teens, want them to practice abstinence.

7 2-Traditional Marriage
In a Stable Environment, people have a higher likelihood of having stability in their relationship. There is more trust, a commitment to be together after sexual intercourse, implies sexual fidelity and more respect. Behavioral Stability: Children get a better sense of what is acceptable and unacceptable, as far as behavior is concerned When children grow up, they get a sense consistency, especially when it also includes closeness with other members of the family such as grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins.

8 2-Traditional Marriage
Learning Skills: For example, mothers usually teach their children relationship skills, like emotional response skills and how to have smooth relations with others, while fathers, in general, teach their children handiwork skills and sports skills, like fixing things around the house or hitting a baseball, as well as how to deal with the world outside. Sharing Responsibility: Enables one parent to take time to pursue other interests or get a rest while the other parent plays or works with the children. Children that are raised in a traditional family also tend to take on some of the sharing of the responsibilities, such as older siblings taking care of younger siblings.

9 3-Unwanted Pregnancy Contraceptives can aid in the process but abstinence is the only 100% positive way to prevent pregnancy.

10 3-Unwanted Pregnancy Single parenting is difficult
